Did you see our story the other day on the success of Skylanders by Activision? Well, Disney has announced and introduced a similar gaming concept arriving in June. It’s called Disney Infinity! Get ready to immerse yourself in some of your favorite Disney character’s worlds with interactive gaming figures.

The characters, power discs and Play Set pieces will work on a device called the “Disney Infinity Base”. This will activate the world, which they are calling “Play Sets”. Which Disney worlds you ask? As of right now, in June they will feature worlds from “Monsters University,” “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “The Incredibles.” If you watched the video, you also saw Buzz Lightyear, Perry the Platypus and Cars.
In each “Play Set”, you will take on the role of the different characters by battling enemies, solving puzzles, overcoming obstacles and more fun adventures.
As you advance through each “Play Set”, you can collect characters, vehicles, upgrades, gadgets and more and save them to your virtual “Toy Box.” You can access your “Toy Box” at anytime to gain access to these items.

Here’s a more detailed description of what Disney Infinity Platform will include:
Disney Infinity Interactive Pieces – Initially a line of 40 collectible interactive pieces will be introduced that allow players to expand and customize their play experiences.
Disney Infinity Interactive Character Figures – Seventeen character figures will allow players to experience a variety of their favorite characters in true to property experiences and in “Toy Box” mode.
Disney Infinity Base – When figures are placed on the Infinity base, they unlock the world and play experiences of Disney Infinity.
Disney Infinity Power Discs – Interactive discs can be placed on the Infinity base to power up characters and “Toy Box” with unique powers, customizations and gadgets.

The Disney Infinity Starter Pack will retail for $74.99. The Play Set pack for $34.99 and the separate figures for $12.99. The game will be available on the following gaming platforms: Nintendo Wii, Nintendo Wii-U, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
