Mega Brands Introduces Two New Lines: Scraps and Goo Hu {Review}

These toys made it into our 2012 Holiday Gift Guide!

You probably know MEGA Brands best for their construction toys and their crafting line RoseArt. They announced in late October two new lines were being released under the RoseArt brand. Did we want to check it out? Of course we did!

These two RoseArt product lines are called Scraps and Goo Hu.

Scraps by RoseArt

Do you have a kiddo who loves to craft? Do you love to craft with them? Scraps is so much fun, is unique and gets those creative juices flowing.  Scraps is a unique new line of 12 original, interchangeable plush characters that kids create by looping and buttoning together multiple pieces and parts onto pom-pom bodies.  All Scraps parts can be mixed, matched and reattached, so kids can collect their favorite characters and even create their own new characters for extended creative play.

We received “Left Rover”, a little puppy with a plaid felt hat. O-M-Gosh he is so cute!

There’s also an owl named Hoot, a bunny named Dusty and more. You can see them at Toys R Us.com HERE.

Goo Hu by RoseArt

Goo Hu is for your little scientist. It’s part science, part a bouncing toy and part totally awesome. Goo Hu features two silicone-based modeling compounds that when kept apart remain gooey forever, but once combined create magical matter that turns into a rubbery, bouncy and flexible form that won’t shrink, crack, break or lose its bounce.  Goo Hu combines crafting with chemistry, allowing children to use their imagination to create unique toy shapes and forms.

We tried out the Goo Hu Squish Bugs.

Our first attempt was an epic fail, but after we got the hang of it, we created some pretty cool looking bugs. Just mix equal parts of A and B, put it in the mold, wait about 15 minutes and voila – you have a bug.

There are also racers, super bounce balls and cushie critters. Check out the full line as well as get a $1.00 of  season coupon on the GooHu website here.

Two cool new lines. Two fun items to gift this Holiday Season!
