Did you take the kids to see the new animated movie “Hotel Transylvania” this weekend? Our weekend was a tad bit busy to head to the theaters, but we’re hoping to catch it sometime soon.
Most of the reviews I have read have been mixed, but it did really well at the box office. So well in fact, that it broke September movie records by bringing in $43 million. As MTV said, leave it to the vampires to bring the box office back from the dead. Clever MTV, clever…
If your kiddos loved the movie and you’re looking for a new video game to either put in their Christmas stocking, as a birthday gift or even possibly a reward for good grades (report cards come out soon here!), the Hotel Transylvania video game might be just what you’re looking for.
I had my 8 year old give it a whirl and he found it fun (hello, you get to kill zombies and skeletons – although I guess they’re already dead, but I digress) as well as challenging. There is one part he’s stuck at, which I don’t mind. How many times have you purchased a new video game for your kids and it takes them a day to master it? I hate that!
It’s fun to interact with the characters, especially if you’ve seen the movie, and it’s the perfect video game to play as we lead up to Halloween. For those kids who are really into video games, the graphics might not be up to par with what they like or are used to. At least on our DS they weren’t.
Overall, we give it 3 out of 5 Xplosions.
