What are you doing on November 25, 2015? I have just the thing! That is the day you need to head to the movies to see Charles Schulz’s Peanuts Gang on the big screen!!! The date has been set. Why 2015? Because that is the 65th anniversary of the comic strip and the 50th anniversary of the landmark television special, “A Charlie Brown Christmas”.
The movie has yet to receive a title (they do have awhile after all),but we do know The Peanuts screenplay has been written and will be produced by Craig Schulz, son of Charles Schulz along with his own son, Bryan Schulz and Cornelius Uliano. Steve Martino will direct. He’s brought movies such as “Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who!” (with Jimmy Hayward) and “Ice Age: Continental Drift” (with Michael Thurmeier) to the big screen.
This is very exciting news! This film will reach so many generations. It will give all of us who grew up watching Charlie Brown and Snoopy some fond memories and it will also give us the chance to introduce our kids to the beloved characters. What a great way to do it – on the big screen.
Stay tuned as we hear more about the Peanuts movie.
