How is your summer going? I hope it’s going great and that you and your family have already created some fun memories together.
Last summer for us was a rough one. Although I work from home and my schedule is semi-flexible, I had piled entirely too many responsibilities on my plate. Add on top of that some poor planning, a tight budget and overall frustration and you have a recipe for a summer disaster. I wouldn’t call last summer a disaster necessarily (although some days it sure felt like it!) but it definitely isn’t one of my most favorite summers to stroll down memory lane through.
Fast forward to this summer and things are different. I lightened my work schedule, did some better planning and have a list of some summer bucket list items we want to accomplish. We are a month into our summer and I’d say it’s going really well. Given the fact that I am a work at home mom, planning is essential. A schedule is essential. So, that’s what I’ve created.
The kids know I will work (most days) until around 10:30. After that, we either go somewhere or I have some activities for us to do. We have done some science experiments, played games, gotten crafty and chilled out and watched a movie when the weather wasn’t so pleasant.
If you are in need of some fun summer activities for your kids to keep them busy, active and those creative brains of theirs working, I’m super excited to tell you about Target and how it is the destination for everything your family needs for the summer. I will admit it. I’m a Target junkie. I could shop for myself, my home and my family there and have no need to go anywhere else.
Whether your family is going to the beach (we leave Thursday!!) or hanging around the house, Target some very cool summer items that I get to tell you about today. And if you’ve been in their store lately, most likely you’ve noticed the giant beach balls, sunglasses and sand buckets that direct you to the colorful summer merchandise.
I was sent nine products from Target to check out. We’re talking a lemonade stand (which we plan on putting to good use to make some summer moolah), craft kits and sports equipment. Check them out below!
Pictured above:
- Lemonade Stand Banner – $2.00
- Lemonade Stand Money Box – $3.00
- Lemonade Stand Sign – $4.00
- Lemonade Stand Juice Container – $6.00
- Lemonade Stand Ice Bucket – $6.00
- Toy Golf Club with Ball Set – $2.99
- Giant Badminton Set – $7.99
- Kid Made Modern Printed Tape Set – $6.99
- Kid Made Modern Board Book Kit – $14.99
How cool are these crafty items? We haven’t gotten out the board book kit yet, but my daughter and some of her friends made small bows for their hair our of the tape. They turned out really cute! You can make just about anything with this tape, such as a messenger bag. It gives you some instructions on some things to make.
If you would like to see what else Target has to offer, be sure and visit their online kids catalog. You can also stay connected with their “Summer-izer” Facebook application on Facebook.com/Target. This application allows you and your kids to add “Big Honkin’ Summer” icons to photos, and then share online or print at a local Target Photo Center. Pretty cool right?
