There is a new toy in town which for weeks took over our dining room table. Well, a portion of it anyway. It’s the Playmobil Take Along Soccer Set. A new set from Playmobil that Todd (my husband) and Aaron (my 8 year old) absolutely love playing with together. Here’s a picture of them in a serious soccer match. You can tell they’re into it!
Playmobil Take Along Soccer Match Description
Dribble your way across the field in the Take Along Soccer Match. With six athlete figures primed and ready to play, this set comes fully equipped with everything kids need to have a complete game experience. Goalie figures connect to an included goal joystick that allows kids to control the goalies’ movements from behind the goal net. This compactable and travel-ready set also includes a 22 x 33 inch field, soccer ball and other accessories. Recommended for ages five to ten. Warning: Choking Hazard. Contains a small ball and small parts. Not for children under 3 years.

For those of you who are familiar with Playmobil, then you know they are all about quality. This take along soccer set is so well made and encourages so much imagination, we absolutely love it. Here’s a better picture which shows how the goalie and players can be played with and how it folds up for easy storage and portability.
As you can see, the goalies can spin to the right or left to block the shot. And yes, it really does work! In order to kick the ball, you move the players around the field and press a lever on the back which makes them kick. It’s ingenious fun really. All while encourgaing the players to use their brains and imaginations.
It does some take skill to learn just where to position the ball to make a shot, as well as how to block it with the goalie. So it’s not one of those toys they master in 6 seconds flat and get bored with in 30 seconds.
The soccer set was easy and quick to put together. There is the playing field, 4 soccer players, 2 goalies, 2 sets of gloves for the goalies and 2 soccer balls. Also included are stickers for the sides and number stickers for the players’ jerseys.
The set easily folds up and stores all of the contents inside. This would be a great toy to take with you on summer trips for those moments when the kids are stuck inside the hotel or grandma and grandpa’s house.

To say we are impressed with the design and quality of this set would be an understatement. This one’s a keeper!
