Despicable Me was one of my top favorite movies for 2010 and I wasn’t alone. The film grossed more than $543 million at theaters worldwide, which made its sequel one of the hottest sought after in Hollywood. Despicable Me 2 arrives in theaters July 3, 2013 and Thinkway Toys has gained the rights to create Despicable Me 2 toys.
Thinkway Toys will develop a wide variety of toys featuring the Minions and other key characters including interactive toys, figures, plush, dolls, playsets, vehicles, role play and novelty items.
“Our team is ecstatic to create an all new line of toys for Despicable Me 2. The characters are endearing, filled with humor and adventure and we can’t wait to include these elements into the toy line,” said Albert Chan, CEO of Thinkway.
Products will be available on shelves in summer 2013.
I can’t wait for this movie and the toys. Guess I better start saving my money now because those minions were hard to get your hands on after the movie debuted! I’m also thinking I might want to snatch up a few from the first movie while they are finally reasonably priced. They’ll be worth something when the sequel comes out. Right?
