Do you dream of seeing your name in lights? Or maybe you watch Glee every week without fail. Do you think you have what it takes to Be a Broadway Star? If so, I have the game for you.
Introducing Be a Broadway Star – This fun and hilarious board game that lets you pay homage to some of the greatest Broadway plays in theater history. The game was created by Broadway veteran producer Ken Davenport, who knows a thing or two about the industry. It was also featured on NBC’s Today as one of Kathie Lee and Hoda’s favorite things.
Everyone in the game starts off in “Acting School” and you try to work your way up to the top and get as many “Fans” as you can. This is definitely not your typical board game. It’s so creative and well made and, best of all, it gives you a chance to show off what ya got.
For example, if you receive a card that says “You Got Cast”, you have to sing 2 lines as the character on the card. The 2 lines must be actual lines the character sings. An example of a You Got Cast card is – Show: Guys and Dolls, Role: Sarah Brown. If you are able to succeed, you receive a $130 salary and one fan card. There’s also the other reality in show business, the You Got Cut card. It happens to the best of us.
The “Make or Break” cards are so much fun. Each time you land on the Make or Break space, you pick a card. Each card has a unique challenge for you, such as making a Hero’s entrance. You have to leave the room and make a hero’s entrance reciting the line “Here I come to save the day!”.
Other cards include Tony Award Cards, Agent Cards, Publicists Cards and Audition Cards.
Who would love this game? Theater geeks, Gleeks, 30-somethings and competitive kids who know a lot about Broadway. This is definitely a game for those who know Broadway plays. If you don’t know anything about them, this game isn’t for you. You’ll be lost, confused and well….lose miserably.
