I’ve mentioned before that we have quite the arsenal when it comes to Nerf guns. Our boys love them and when their friends come over, it’s war time. I am so impressed with Nerf‘s latest line and that’s why I’ve included it in this year’s Holiday Gift Guide. Their new line is called Vortex and we reviewed the Vortex Praxis Blaster.

Why do we love this line so much? Here are just a few of the features:
Long-range and power control – We can shoot these from one end of our house to the other. They shoot FAR! I wish I would have recorded us when we first opened the gun and started shooting. All you heard was screaming. We were having some serious fun.
Personalize your blaster with accessories – The shoulder stock is removable and you can add other accessories to create your own Vortex Praxis Hybrid. Boys love customization.
The discs are awesome – These shoot fast and just so you know, they do have a little zing to it, I guess you could say. We all had to experience what it felt like. It doesn’t hurt, but just enough to get your attention.
Note: The discs are very easy to lose. We lost several of them the first time we used the gun. They end up in the craziest places. I would recommend buying a refill pack up front because you will lose some discs and find them months later. We found one in the dog kennel, which means it flew through the bars – which is crazy.
Extras: No extras needed. Except maybe an extra pack of discs like I mentioned above.
Ages: 8 and up
Price: The Vortex Praxis is around $24. The other guns in the Vortex line range from anywhere from $15 to $50, depending on where you purchase them.
