Ravensburger Make N Break Junior Game {Review}

Since its summer time and the kids are out of school (and it’s so hot outside you could fry a, well you know), I’ve been trying to find activities for us to do inside. The older kids like to find their own activities, but Aaron, well – he likes to have someone play with him and he loves games.

Since I’m a work at home mom, I like to use games as an incentive and it (sometimes) works. “Give me one hour and then we’ll play a game.” I set the timer and as soon as it goes off, I hear a knock at the door. Game time.

Yesterday we played a new game that we hadn’t opened yet. It was the Ravensburger Make N Break Junior – Children’s Game.

This game was a lot of fun and Aaron (7) loved it! He asked to play it again today. Basically, this is how you play. Each player has their own set of building blocks and there are cards with different building structures on them. Some are harder than others. One player says , “On your building blocks, get set, go!” and you flip the card over and build the structure on the card with your building blocks as fast as you can.

The first one to build grabs a natural colored block from the middle. As long as their structure is put together correctly and they don’t knock it down when grabbing for the block (that happened a few times to us!), they get a chip. The person with the most chips wins.

The game teaches kids how to build things with a steady hand. It teaches hand-eye coordination and how to follow directions from a picture. The kids have NO clue they are learning a darn thing. They’re just having fun trying to beat mom, dad or their siblings!

Great game and definitely one the kids will want to play over and over again. This one has a permanent place in our game cabinet.

What are some of your kids favorite games?
