Get Cooking with Headchefs {Video, Pictures & Giveaway}

I’m not always so great at getting my kids in the kitchen and one of my goals, is to do better at that. I love to cook, but I tend to do it on my own and not grab a kid or two to help me. When I do actually get the kids in the kitchen, they love it!

We recently had the chance to test out Headchefs cooking utensils and a mixing bowl. If you haven’t heard of these or seen them up close and personal, you are missing out. They are SO cute and fun! Here’s a picture of Aaron with some Headchefs products. He made sure to do his goofiest grin possible.

Headchefs is all about inspiring families to get together and cook up some fun in the kitchen. And summertime is the perfect time for that! When school starts, our days get so busy. Here are a few benefits of having your children help prepare meals:

  • Children are more apt to try healthy foods and develop healthier eating habits for the long term.
  • Cooking together fosters parent-child relationships, providing an opportunity to talk and spend quality time without distractions.
  • Kids are more likely to enjoy a meal they helped to create.

I am very impressed with the quality of the cooking utensils and the mixing bowl. The utensils are made out of silicone and are dishwasher safe. I washed them in my dishwasher and they did just fine. I’ve had more expensive spatulas not make it through a couple of washes before.

My kids thought the cooking utensils were very cool. We tested out Floura the Measuring Cup, Ollie the Whisk and Peggy the Spoon. They have so many fun products and even some new ones that recently came out. You can go check all of them out on the Headchefs website.

Video, Giveaway and more info below!

Here’s a video we whipped up (pun intended) where we made some chocolate chip cookies.

Aaron made me leave the “I love you ToyXplosion!” that he did in some sort of accent. Texan? I have no idea.

How would you like the chance to win a gift code to buy some Headchefs cooking utensils of your own? Read on.

I remember making gingerbread with my father and cosuisn. the kitchen was a mess when we were done

When my granddaughters come to visit, they always help making cookies, now I made a recipe book for each of them with pictures of them cooking or baking and each picture has a recipe of what they are making. They love to come and try a different recipe.

I remember being moms taste tester for spaghetti sauce. I would tell her we need more garlic or salt.

Fortunately I don't even have to try and encourage my 2 1/2 year old to help in the kitchen with meals, dishes, or putting away groceries. He is a little determined helper. Although, to make it fun for him (he is a real serious little guy and very goal orientated) I simply make everything sound like its real important!!! (using tone, body language, etc...) He LOVES drama, lol.

i encourage our children to get in the kitchen and help by making it fun

Actually at this point it is baking with my granddaughter and daughter. My granddaughter is 4 1/2 and can crack eggs and stir them in and measure, so she helps so much and LOVES it! She asks to bake more!

I encourage my kids to get creative especially when we are baking and decorating

I encourage my children to cook with me my choosing to make items everyone likes to eat!

my mom cooking was the best

My daughter loves to help me bake because she has her own apron and she gets to lick the beaters and/or bowls when we are done!

I loved when I was sble to help my mom c& dad cook! I was given the crappy job no one wanted at the time lol as I look back I realize. I started by stirring cookie dough or grating cheese :P

My son LOVES to help me bake. Muffins, cookies, cakes, anything like that. I also have started letting my 2-year old help make cookies. They both LOVE it and I love the time well spent with them.

My 3 year old absolutely loves to help with anything that involves stirring, so we do a lot of baking. Hopefully he'll keep learning to love cooking!

I remember spending time in the kitchen with my dad. It seems like all he ever cooked was breakfast. It was a lot of fun but I still cannot make a decent pancake or piece of bacon.

Our son cooks with my wife all the time; he loves to help measure and get the ingredients out of the cupboard.

I loved being in the kitchen with my mum. She would tell stories about when she was a little girl in England.

I love getting my daughter in the kitchen to help. She's 9 and she loves measuring ingredients, getting out things we need, and cooking basic dishes like scrambled eggs (with my help of course!) She would absolutely love these kitchen tools!

I teach my daughter everything I do. Last night she breaded the chicken and put it in the skillet.
Thanks for the chance.

My daughter loves helping in the kitchen. She loves helping mix and pour, especially when she's getting a sweet treat!

I don't have any memories of being with my parents in the kitchen but do remember cooking with my great grandma, she was an amazing home cook. My Grammy would make the best cheesy meatloaf you ever had! She loved to let me get my hand dirty helping her. I share that same love for cooking with my own three children and I love letting them make things with my supervision.

Most of my memories in the kitchen with my mom as a kid involve making christmas cookies. It was always a lot of fun, and we would make the cookies my mom's dad always made when he was alive.

I encourage my kids to cook with my letting them pick some of our baking projects like "grinch" waffles and strawberry pancakes with sprinkles.

as far back as i can remember, i was always in the kitchen with my mom., but then she always made me do the dishes.

Every year at Christmas my dad used to make "Bananas" (Bananas cut up, and rolled in a mayo mix and then in peanuts) with his parents. When I was little he did it with me, and now we do it with my kids. It's our special family holiday tradition, and we love cooking together.

I have three kids, and I love them to join me in the kitchen. My oldest daughter (soon to be 17) doesn't really want to be bothered, but my 13 year old daughter loves to create spices and rubs -- she makes the best chicken salad you can get anywhere. It's amazing and I can't make it the way she does! My 7 year old son knows how to make pancakes now, and he also makes ramen noodles by himself and he can make kool-aid. I ask him to help in the kitchen because I think boys need to know as much as girls do. He loves to help, but he's still very young and can't do it all himself yet.

As a child, I always helped my mother bake cookies and other goodies, my daughter and son love helping in the kitchen, and they will remember this forever as I do

I remember making meatballs with my mom

I loved hanging out in the kitchen with my mom, and I liked helping stir things for her when she was making dinner. Our kitchen was huge, and it even had a small couch because everyone always hung out there.

I have three very active boys. They are outdoors all day building forts and riding bikes, but around supper time I invite them to come in to help me cook dinner. It helps them to slow down at the end of a hard day playing! They love the fact they are being my big helpers. What they dont know is that those times they help me cook are some of my favorite memories!

My mother started teaching me to cook and bake, among many other things, when I was four years old. She bought me a child-size pan in Germany (cookware for children did not exist here at that time). The pan cooked up the perfect egg. I would stand on a chair in front of the stove to cook. Back then, our stove and oven had to be lit by match. She would watch me cook and bake until she was confident I could use the stove/oven safely.

When I was a kid.....10 years old or so. I wanted to make an apple pie for my father. I called my grandmother on the phone and she gave me directions on how to make the pie. I made the crust, boiled the apples....everything seem to be going smoothly....... I poured the apples in topped with another pie crust and placed the pie pan in the oven to bake. I waited until my grandma told me to remove it and let it cool. I was so proud of this pie. I couldn't wait until it was time for dessert. Dinner finally ends and the pie is sliced into. Something is very wrong....it didn't look like any apple pie my grandmother had made. It was liquidy inside the pie....kinda like apple soup! As I struggle to put the pie on my dads plate.....he smiles and tells me how good it smells and takes a bite....then another and another .....until it was gone! He said it was the best pie he had ever had. I didn't realize until years later, I was suppose to drain the apples from the water before putting them in the pie shell. Still makes me smile! My Dad loved me so much that he would eat the crazy things I cooked up!

My son loves to cook. he is in charge of the spices and the stirring, he pulls his chair up and takes over!

I had fun in the kitchen with my parents and I'm passing the fun onto my kids. My 13 year old loves to help out in the kitchen. My 11 year old doesn't seem as interested but, as always they do learn something new each time and we always have fun.

Every year my Mom and I would make Christmas cookies, and no matter what she would end up with red or green dye all over her hands..LOL

I always remember making chocolate chip cookies with mom. My sister and I loved it. Back then we would lick the bowl. Can't do that anymore. : (

I never cooked with my parents, but my grandmother did teach me how to bake. She was never the overly worrisome cook--she let me play with flour and spices and butter ever since I was 4 years old!

Loved cooking with my grandma, learned to cook Polish foods like she did in her home country. Gramma I miss you.

I have memories of cooking with my Grandmother-cookies and bread!

we cook all the time- the kids have a blast and I make it a learning experience

I loved to make and decorate holiday cookies with my children when they were small. They could have so much fun with frosting and sprinkles!

In my tiny little apartment kitchen growing up.. the thing I remember most is getting dressed in front of the oven. On cold days.. it provided the most heat! Though.. in regards to cooking, my mom made the most excellent chicken cutlet parmesan.. and I can still picture the cheese sizzling on the baking pan! She mad some things i wasn't so crazy about (chicken fried steak).. but we did love those cutlets!

Both my parents were into cooking...my dad breakfast...my mom five course dinners and I always loved being in the kitchen with them. Now that I have my own kids I try to do a fun "cooking" project once a week...whether it be pancakes, brownies or an easy fruit salad. Thanks for the chance to win!

I always liked cooking with my mom everyday. It brings back so many memories. Espically when we made a HUGE mess in the kitchen.. and took the rest of the day cleaning it up haha :D

Hey Juls!!! You look FAB and the kids are really growing like weeds!!!! Still baking and tugging along. We are eating healthier nowadays and I'm always bringing the kiddos into the kitchen to help prepare and fix the meals. I let them pick out the fresh veggies at the Farmers Market and then let them prepare it at home.
On a memory note, my Grandmom taught me how to bake cakes and that has stayed with me after all of these years. I miss her soo much!

My roommate moved in two months ago. And in those two months, she's ruined two pans. They are now scarred with a burnt, black, coal-like residue. Gina's also stunk the house up with burnt popcorn. And she's refused to cook anything but cereal.

One time, I asked Gina to watch something boiling on the stove. In the few minutes I was gone, I came back to Gina, in a panic, with the pan overflowing. She hadn't thought to take off the lid and turn down the heat (or even take the pan off the stove)! After this, I thought about only giving her microwave tasks. But on Gina's first microwave attempt, she was able to make the pizza I wanted re-heated into a chewy, overcooked mess.

Gina will openly tell you everything she touches burns, over boils or breaks. She wants to be a better cook--and her boyfriend and I have tried to help teach her. We are hoping this gift card will excite her about trying harder in the kitchen!

I'm hoping you'll choose Gina. Her boyfriend and I could use some help around the house!

My grandkids love to get in the kitchen and bake with me. We make cookies and muffins and cupcakes. It's a joy to teach them something new every time we cook or bake together.

My best memory is from when my mom made cakes. My sisters and I would all get to lick the beaters after she was done beating the mix. It was a special treat! Thanks for the chance!!! :)
