Best Pals Doll, Tea Set & CD {Review & Giveaway}

There are so many dolls to choose from on the market these days. Sometimes, it’s great to just get back to the basics of a rag doll (remember those?), which I think every girl should have when she’s little.

We had the chance to review the Best Pals handmade rag doll set, which came with a doll, tea set and CD. Not only is the doll well made, but the tea set is absolutely adorable. We chose the Kathy doll, pictured below.

Here’s a little background on the dolls:

These products were designed and developed by Kathy and Janet Lennon, of the Lennon Sisters. The celebrity sisters, who still perform in Branson and select venues throughout the year, recently saw an opportunity to realize a dream that they had always shared and decided to try their hand at being entrepreneurs as well as performers.

Based on their own lifelong friendship, their love for a pair of handmade ragdolls and their concern for the lack of non-electronic toys in the marketplace, they launched their own children’s product line – Best Pals.  The wholesome toys, with a nod back to their 1950’s childhood, were developed especially for parents and grandparents looking to provide their children and grandchildren with high quality toys at affordable prices, with the underlying premise of having and being a trusted friend.  With a host of awards from Dr. Toy, iParenting Media, the National Parenting Center, NAPPA and Creative Child, the product has been recognized by parents, educators and children for outstanding play value.

The soft ragdolls are identical to a set of dolls that were given to Kathy and Janet Lennon in 1949, which were handmade for them by their mother and their Nana; the music CDs are comprised of classic childhood favorites and lullabies, and the play sets and paper dolls emphasize pretend play.

Recommended for Ages 3 and Up   Every child deserves a Best Pal.  These soft 16” rag dolls were inspired by a pair of handmade ragdolls given to Kathy and Janet Lennon on Christmas morning in 1949.  They are soft and cuddly – perfect for playtime and a great companion for naptime or bedtime too!  They are available in 6 different styles – the original Kathy and Janet dolls, along with Lily, Sofia, Isabelle and Danny Boy.   

Best Pals Sing Together CD – Suggested Retail Price: $20.00 Recommended for All Ages   This award-winning CD features timeless childhood classics such as Aba Daba Honeymoon/Animal Fair, (I love you) A Bushel and a Peck, Candy Man, Doggie in the Window, Inch Worm (2 & 2 are 4), Let’s Go Fly a Kite, Little Child (Mommy Dear), Pick Yourself Up, and Whistle a Happy Tune. The CD also features two brand new original songs, exclusive to this album entitled My Little One and My Very, Very, Very Best Pal written by Janet’s husband John Bahler and granddaughter Lia. Kathy and Janet sing with Janet’s three granddaughters Lia, Ana and Jenna Bernhardi, who also perform with them on stage in Branson, Missouri annually.   

Best Pals Tin Tea Set Suggested Retail Price: $29.95 Recommended for Ages 3 and up   Playing tea party with favorite dolls and friends is one of the best pastimes imaginable!
