We’ve been invaded by a few little guests. They’re currently hanging out on my desk. Meet Hayfever, Tick and Chagas – the new GIANTmicrobes for Spring 2011.
Luckily, these guests are in plush form (although, I think I’ve been feeling the Hayfever big time!). If you’re not familiar with GIANTmicrobes, you can take a look at all of the plush they have to offer. Just when you think they have covered every disease and little creature, they come out with a new one.

Keep Your Eye Out For This One!
A common tropical ailment, Chagas disease is spread by the triatomine “kissing bugs” and is characterized by the swelling of one eye.
Be careful who kisses you goodnight!
