KidsPickFlicks.com is all about kids reviewing movies and they have announced the nominees for The 5th Annual KidsPickFlicks.com Awards. The categories include Pick of the Year, Ick of the Year, Kid Actress and Kid Actor of the Year.
Kids can vote for their most and least favorite films of 2010 (voting already underway), as well as their favorite feature film young actors on KidsPickFlicks between March 1, 2011 and March 28, 2011. The winners will be announced March 29, 2011.
Same as the Oscar’s, the films which are nominated for the “Pick” of the Year Award are the best reviewed movies of 2010 according to the kid reviewers at KidsPickFlicks. The Ick of the Year Award is awarded to the most disappointing movie of the year, an “accolade” designed to send movie studios a message about what kids don’t appreciate in movies that appear to be made for them. The films nominated are based on the following criteria: G to PG-13 rated, top-rated film at time of nominee selection, a film that KidsPickFlicks’s staff thinks was accessible to kids, and has an initial release date between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2010.
This year’s Pick of the Year Award nominees include Universal Pictures Despicable Me, Sony Pictures’ The Karate Kid, 20th Century Fox Marmaduke, Universal Pictures Scott Pilgrim vs The World, and Walt Disney Studios Tangle.
This year’s Ick of the Year Award nominees include Universal Pictures Little Fockers, Paramount Pictures The Last Airbender, and Lionsgate The Spy Next Door.
The 2010 Kid Actor of the Year nominees include Bobby Coleman (The Last Song), Zachary Gordon (Diary of a Wimpy Kid), Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightening Thief”, Taylor Lautner (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse), and Jaden Smith (The Karate Kid)
The 2010 Kid Actress of the Year nominees include Madeline Carroll (The Spy Next Door), Joey King (Ramona and Beezus), Selena Gomez (Ramona and Beezus), Chloe Moretz (Diary of a Wimpy Kid), and Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit).
