Toy Storage Solutions – Organizing a Reading Corner

Have you tamed the wild beast of toys that is threatening to take over every room of your home? The beginning of the New Year is the perfect time to get rid of toys that your kids have outgrown, don’t play with anymore or are broken.

Several years ago, I owned a Professional Organizing Business. My favorite room to help clients’ get organized was their playrooms or kids rooms. It was always so much fun to see the looks on both the parents’ and the kids’ faces when they saw the end result. We always divided the room up into sections.

Some of the sections were: Pretend play section (dress up, play kitchen), LEGO/Block section (which included a mat for them to sit on and build towers till their hearts content) and Reading Section (included a bookcase, chair/bean bag and a reading lamp).

Having their rooms organized and sectioned off allows kids to enjoy playing in their rooms more and putting away toys easier.
