Review: Heelys, The All New HX2 for Kids

Have you heard of Heelys? I am sure you have, but have you heard of their new shoe for kids the HX2? We had the chance to test out a pair for our 6 year old and needless to say, they have a been a HUGE hit!

The all new HX2 is for your kids who aren’t quite ready for the one-wheeled Heelys. They have two wheels instead of one, which allows your kids to balance and learn to skate easier. The cool thing about the HX2 is once they have mastered the two wheels, they can take out the front wheel and skate Heely style! It gradually leads them up to learning how to balance on one wheel.

What did we think of them? LOVE them! Not only did Aaron get a pair to review, but so did I. Heelys aren’t just for kids, yo! (My kids would die if they just heard me say yo.) Watch this video clip of me and Aaron testing out our Heelys together.

Aaron loves his Heelys and it didn’t take him very long to master them at all. It took me a little longer than him (naturally) to get the hang of it, but once I did, we were having a blast. Aaron has been Heelying (that’s a verb right?) around the house, on the sidewalk, on the back patio…pretty much anywhere he possible can.

I like the idea of a parent getting a pair of Heelys and learning to do them with their kids. It encourages parents to get outside and get active with their kids and it’s just downright fun! I’ve considered trying to do my chores in my Heelys. Could it make them actually enjoyable? Who knows. It’s worth a shot!

Spring is around the corner and it will be time for the kids to get out and play before we know it. With Heelys, they’ll be having a ton of fun and getting some exercise at the same time.
