Review: Wild Creations’ EcoAquarium Featuring Dwarf Frogs

About a week ago, we had a couple of new friends move in with us. They are so polite, easy to take care of and a blast to watch. We are talking about two African Dwarf Frogs from Wild Creations’ EcoAquarium! (Please read all the way down because we have a coupon code at the end!!)

If you are looking for a pet, as well as something to teach your kids about science and the world we live in, the EcoAquarium is a great choice. We have had a ‘one pet at a time’ rule for awhile, but after reading about how easy to care for and how fun the African Dwarf Frogs were, we couldn’t turn it down.

Shipping the Frogs

Let’s start with the shipping process. The company is all about taking care of these frogs and realizes that the shipping process is very important for the frogs’ survival. They arrive on your doorstep within a day or two of ordering. The frogs arrived on time, at our doorstep and in perfect, healthy condition.

Putting the Aquarium Together

Getting the frogs in their habitat is super easy and so much fun for kids and adults. You need to have a gallon of fresh spring water on hand for when they arrive. The instructions are very easy to understand (our 10 year old and 6 year old got it all set up together).

Basically, you put the living gravel (which you will hear about in a video I am going to show you. So amazing!) on the bottom of the aquarium and then the decorative gravel. Add the plant and the decorative rock. After that, pour room temperature water in the aquarium and introduce your new pets to their habitat by following their ‘Live Animal’ care instructions.

Taking Care of the Frogs

Taking care of the African Dwarf Frogs is very easy. You feed them twice a week and clean the aquarium 4 times a year. The cleaning of the aquarium is simple and not near as hard as a fish tank.

Side note: There have been some concerns expressed about the cruelty of the EcoAquarium and how the frogs are taken care of. In the research we did, we can tell you that it seems Wild Creations went above and beyond the industry standards set. We have talked to friends who have these and have read reviews, where they say the frogs have lived for years.

We have loved having these little frogs in our home and they have been so much fun to observe. I was sitting there watching them, when one hopped over to me and was just staring straight at me. It was the funniest thing!

Taking care of pets teaches our kids so many amazing things and with the EcoAquarium, they learn not only how to take care of something, but they are learning about science. Not only is this a great thing to have in your home, but is also a wonderful tool for teachers.
