It’s great when kids can get outdoors to play and use their imagination at the same time. Outdoor playhouses provide some shade and a chance for kids to get creative. It’s definitely one of the hottest outdoor toys every summer and something that draws the neighborhood kids over to play.
We’ve compiled a list of wooden outdoor playhouses that consists of pricey to affordable. Some are made of cedar and look like log cabins. Some look like little cottages and there are also some that I swear are nicer than our own house. If you’re feeling handy, you can even order a kit and put one together yourself.
One of my favorite wooden outdoor playhouses are the Kids Crooked House. They are so whimsical and fun.
The one pictured above is the Kids Crooked House – Double Deluxe Package. The Double Deluxe Package is a whopper! This playhouse starts with our Deluxe Package but extends to 15 feet of pure play. A 24 inch diameter crawl tube joins both main and back house together allowing children to pass between houses easily. The back house has a 4 x 4 base with almost 6 feet of headroom so even parents have the chance to play. The best kept secret… The back house has a secret door that is hardly visible from the outside but makes for an easy escape when playing their favorite outdoor games.
Next up, a Large Victorian Wooden Outdoor Playhouse which is definitely on the extravagant side, priced at over $2,500.
Cute Victorian-style design meets your childrens’ fantasies of playing in the best playhouse ever in the Little Cottage Company Victorian Playhouse. The exterior features ‘gingerbread’ trim, one child-sized and one adult-sized Dutch door, shutters, flowerboxes on the functional windows, and a painted heart upper window. What’s inside is solid, all wood construction with 2 x 4 framing and trusses perfectly crafted by expert carpenters and panelized to make setup easy.
The The Comfy Cottage Play House is more reasonably priced, but definitely smaller and contains less detail than the other two. But for $399, you get a really cute playhouse that has doors, a chimney, shelf, 2 stools and windows.
The Tortuga Breckenridge Outdoor Playhouse seems to be a popular wooden playhouse, since at the time of this writing, there is only one left in stock.
The Breckenridge outdoor playhouse makes a great clubhouse or fort for kids of all ages. Its made of high-quality wood thats naturally resistant to rot, decay, and insect damage. The Breckenridge outdoor playhouse comes in pre-assembled panels that make setup a breeze. No painting, staining, or roofing is necessary. The Breckenridge outdoor playhouse includes a weather-resistant polycarbonate roof, and semi-tinted polycarbonate window and door panes.
The KidKraft Outdoor Cottage Clubhouse is priced at around $530 and is made of of weather-resistant wood. The door and window open and close and the inside of house includes a sink and convenient storage space.
A cabin-in-the-woods look with shutters and a cute little mailbox, this play house even has two window pots and details that give it a real homey feel. There is a chalk-board name plate above the door to write the owner’s name. The solid wood weather-resistant construction and honey red roof demonstrate real value. Kids will cozy-up inside to share secrets and play house. The details, such as the corner sink make it look so real! Assembled product measurements in inches: 55.5 wide x 46.25 long x 55 high.
Do you remember that I said some of the playhouses almost looked bigger and nicer than our own home? Check.this.out. It’s the Queen Anne!
Amazing isn’t it? I want to live in a house with a slide! How cool would that be? Every day would start out great if you left the house sliding.
The Queen Anne is for those who simply want the best in childrens’ Victorian playhouses. The interior features a vaulted entry, fireplace, L-shaped stairway, and an abundance of room. The taller design of The Queen Anne allows for greater head height which makes this playhouse ideal for children and adults alike. It comes standard with oversized windows which have plexiglass tops and shuttered bottoms, a four by eight foot deck, and a bay window. The exterior is characterized by victorian elegance with country charm. And with available options that include firepoles, rock climbing walls and slides, The Queen Anne will be the place where memories are made for you and your children. Also available in kit form or plans.
The house is from WoodManor.com. Be sure and check out all of the outdoor playhouses they have to offer. So much fun!
