On November 24th, Walt Disney Animation Studios will release “Tangled”, formerly titled “Rapunzel” in theaters. The name change is an effort to get boys into the theater and take the attention off the “princess” part. You can read more about their reasoning behind that here.
Although they have changed the name and are trying not to focus just on girls, Mattel is still coming out with a new Rapunzel doll, as well as the boy in the film Flynn Rider.
Here’s a little bit about the Rapunzel doll:
The doll features beautiful golden hair that nearly touches the ground. Includes 10-inch wear-and-share hair extensions, so girls can re-create their favorite movie scenes with Rapunzel’s long hair.
Flynn Rider
Flynn Rider is the dashing hero who joins Rapunzel on her adventures and eventually wins her heart. Girls will love playing out the romance between the Rapunzel and Flynn Rider dolls.
Each doll is sold separately for $14.99 and will be available in Fall of 2010…most likely around the time of the movie release.
